How to knit the Chrysanthemum stitch
Slip 8 sts purlwise to RH needle dropping extra loops, slip these 8 sts back to LH needle. (Knit 8 together, leave 8 stitches on LH needle, then pass knitted stitch (the stitch just worked) to LH needle, knit 1) 8 times. 

PATTERN
Cast on a multiple of 10 stitches, plus 2.
Row 1 (RS): Knit.
Row 2: P2, *purl 8 wrapping yarn twice around needle for each stitch, p2, repeat from *.
Row 3: K2, *Chrysanthemum stitch, k2, repeat from *.
Row 4: Knit.
Row 5: Knit.
Row 6: P7, *purl 8 wrapping yarn twice around needle for each stitch, p2, repeat from * to last 5 sts, p5.
Row 7: K7, *Chrysanthemum stitch, k2, repeat from * to last 5 sts, k5.
Row 8: Knit.
Repeat rows 1-8.
