Slip Stitch Knitting 28: Gulls and Garter

How to knit the K1 uls.
Take the right-hand needle under the slipped threads, then pick up the next st on the left-hand needle and knit this st and the slipped threads together.

PATTERN
Cast on a multiple of 8 sts, plus 1.
Row 1 (RS): Knit.
Rows 2 and 4: K2, *p5, k3, repeat from * to last 7 sts, p5, k2.
Row 3: K2, *sl5 wyif, k3, repeat from * to last 7 sts, sl5 wyif, k2.
Row 5: K4, *K1 uls, k7, repeat from * to last 5 sts, k1 uls, k4.
Repeat rows 2-5.
