How to knit K1long
- Insert your right needle into the space between the k2tog and ssk from 2 rows earlier.
- Knit one stitch through this hole.
Note: Try to keep your tension even on both stitches so that they will be of equal length.

PATTERN
Cast on a multiple of 8 stitches, plus 6.
Row 1 (RS): K5, *k2tog, ssk, k4, repeat from * to last st, k1 (multiple of 6 sts, plus 6).
Rows 2, 4, 6, and 8: Purl.
Row 3: K5, * k1long, k2,  k1long (through the same space), k4, repeat from * to last st, k1 (multiple of 8 sts, plus 6).
Row 5: K1, k2tog, ssk, *k4, k2tog, ssk, repeat from * to last st, k1 (multiple of 6 sts, plus 4).
Row 7: K1, k1long, k2,  k1long (through the same space), *k4, k1long, k2,  k1long (through the same space), repeat from * to last st, k1 (multiple of 8 sts, plus 6).
Repeat rows 1-8.
